Gather — Classic woven wall hanging
Local photographer Stephanie Baker steps out from behind the lens to facilitate others’ creativity with Gather, her DIY Studio in Harbor Springs. Started early 2018, classes include projects such as indigo dyed fabrics, cutting boards and hand-knit winter hats, as well as culinary offerings including cheesemaking, kombucha and sourdough breadmaking.
“Gather is a fun place to get together with friends and create something with your hands,” said Baker.
A group of Baker’s friends got together to test out a new project (shown in this issue), a modern take on a classic woven wall hanging. Baker said the class was a success and she will add it to the schedule, which can be found at gatherharborsprings.com.
“My purpose for Gather is to create a warm, welcoming environment where people of all ages and lifestyles come to learn a new craft or specialty,” Baker said.
HomeLife will feature a new project offered at Gather in each issue this year.
